Graffiti was everywhere where I grew up and has heavliy influenced my visual style. I am interested in stylized script and letterforms. I feel that focus on the meaning and presentation of words in a world where we are bombarded by destructive, deceitful, and hurtful words adds an aesthetic to their presence and gives them power, similar to the recitation of poetry. Blackbooks are traditionally graf artist's idea and sketch books. Looking at artist's sketchbooks reveals a new persepective and depth in their expression.Besides font and letter style creations, I also have abstract contour line drawings and sketches. Herein lays the origins of my contour linearism style.
