A Clockwork Purple
A Clockwork Purple is the downtemo electronic music project of Lightborn. The project was formerly called "Aquabeam." In 2001, Lightborn began playing live improvisational, instrumental trip hop and dub in various NYC venues using a sequencer, drum machine, and turntables. The music was conceptual and atmospheric, and drew inspiration from USOs (Unidentified Submerged Objects), Atlantis, the films of Stanley Kubrick, Buddhist mandalas, and Christian mysticism. Two live performances were recorded and released on Soho's Void Records. A Clockwork Purple digital release is expected in late 2010.
